Two-leaf seedlings from a cross between my A. Besseae aff. and Mr. Worldwide (Indo Port x NSE Port), some are putting out their third leaf. Both parent plants are pictured in the listing. Originally pollinated on 9/15/24, the berries took six months and resulted in a huge yield harvested Mar-Apr 2025. These seedlings are growing vigorously! I’m hoping for offspring with dark leaves, striking Besseae veining, and a wide sinus. With grower’s choice, I’ll try to select seedlings displaying slightly different traits, to the best of my ability.

PLEASE READ: First generation hybrid seedlings will be highly variable and may display traits from either parent. All seedlings will be shipped bare root in moss, ready to be potted into your substrate of choice upon arrival. These seedlings have been growing in moderate humidity (70%) and will benefit from slow acclimation to ambient humidity.

MEET THE PARENTS:

Anthurium Besseae aff. - Mother /  Seed parent - This species is native to the Darien gap in Panama known for dark, heart-shaped leaves with bright green-yellow veining. The name Besseae aff. is a placeholder name until the species is formally described. The aff. abbreviation stands for the Latin word "affinis" meaning it's similar to the true form Besseae, but it's actually closer to the Anthurium Crystallinum in form, with distinctively darker leaves and green veins rather than white like the Crystallinum.

Anthurium "Mr. Worldwide" - Father / Pollen parent - Affectionately named "Mr. Worldwide" due to its distinctive wide sinus, this plant is a hybrid of Anthurium Portillae Indo form x Anthurium Portillae NSE form (from NSE Tropicals). MrWW has dark grey-ish green leaves, muted veining, wide sinus, and almost elephant-like leaves when mature.
